Clarence Marshall HighSeptember 21, 1930 - May 11, 2010
Clarence Marshall High, age 79, a retired supervisor with Universal Leaf Tobacco Company, died Tuesday evening in Johnston Medical Center. Born September 21, 1930 in Johnston County to the late Odell and Bertha Mae Eason High, he was preceded in death by a brother Larry High and a sister Shirley Congleton. Marshall was a US Army veteran and a lifetime member of Corinth Baptist Church.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Lee Colbert officiating. The family will receive friends in the cemetery following the service.
Surviving are two sons, Mark High and wife Ruth of Smithfield and Louis High and wife Emily of Dunn; daughter, Marcia Armstrong and husband Lamar of Four Oaks; six grandchildren, Lamar Armstrong, III, Hinton Armstrong, Eason Armstrong, Andrea High, Matthew High and Thomas High; his special caregivers, which he referred to as “Daddy’s Angels”, Genene “Turkey” Beasley, Geneva Glover and Patricia Fouchal and his faithful dog “Will”.
